We just arrived at Travis' parents house, well, Travis' mother's house. His father is certainly not around, he ran off with a dabo girl when Travis was four, and hasn't been seen since. I'll happily take missing from before my birth in comparison to this, as it lets me keep the illusion that father isn't a dead beat.

Travis' mother is so sweet it almost makes my teeth hurt. She means well, which is part of what's so frustrating about it, you can't really hold it against her since she is just trying to make me feel welcome. His sisters are a little more genuine and they did succeed at making me feel welcome.

His older sister, Wendy, has two little girls. Grace, who's five, and Andrea, who's two. Their father is in Starfleet, but he's supposed to be coming home for the holiday this year. Travis' younger sister, Alice, is engaged, but her fiancé is off planet on business. They were especially vague about what sort of business he is in.

When we'd been on Qo'noS for Mara's wedding earlier this year, Mama had set Travis up in the guest room, while I got my old room back. It kind of got in the way of the quality time we wanted to spend together. Travis' family either is very naïve. or they're pretty laid back. Either way, they set me up in with Travis in his old bedroom. We've had to figure out how to be quiet though, no need to give a curious five year old difficult questions to ask her parents.

Travis is taking a shower, to get rid of some of the travel stress, then he said he wanted to show me something. It sounds like he's done with his shower now.
