Kaith checked in with me once he finished his training, and amazingly enough I almost didn't recognize him, he was actually smiling. He wasn't even trying to hide the spots we got from Dad. They'd dumped him into a detachment of under performers at first, and his superiors realized he'd been undersold. It didn't take long to move him to a new detachment, and despite his mixed parentage, his new detachment welcomed him once they saw him in action.

He's still oblivious to Mama's disappointment, but that's probably for the better. He seems to have found somewhere he likes, and I don't want to see him throw that away just because she's got what humans would call empty nest syndrome.

Kang's due to arrive at the station later today. Travis, Blue and I just finished another run, and weirdly enough there's a two week gap before we're due for our next one.
